I have always liked music. I used to love to listen to the songs that surrounded my childhood. Only recently have I broke free from the 70's "soft rock" music to experiment with different artists. The transformation started originally with Classical music (though not much of a progression to some, I bet I know more Bach than anyone would care to). Half-way through junior high, I started to branch out even more to listen to a few more "modern" songs such as "Bad Day" and "Bubbly"(thank you my dear Mari). It wasn't until I discovered Playlist.com last year that I TRULY found myself experimenting with different types of music. My sister has been a HUGE contributer to the types of music that I love. She inspires so many of my "favorites".
To make a long story a bit shorter: my new favorite artist is Ingrid Michaelson. My sister's friend introduced us to her and we've become almost border-line obsessed (compared to my usual "hum dum" music approach)with her music. On Saturday, Brianne bought Ingrid Michaelson's CD. We talked about it for a LONG time on Sunday and she had me look up the song "The Chain". I haven't been able to get it out of my head! It is therefore, my new favorite song. :)
Make sure you listen to the entire song. Ingrid Michaelson does a round with Priscilla Ahn at the end. It sounds absolutely gorgeous! :)

Ah! I love, love, LOVE Ingrid Michaelson and Priscilla Ahn! They are both very talented, as well as unique, in their singing. I'm glad you discovered them! :)
ReplyDeleteWow this song is amazing, if you're getting into this kind of music, you really need to talk to me because I have some excellent stuff that is just like this. Check out my blog this week for a little taste of the softer side of my musical tastes.
ReplyDeleteJessica: What was the name of the one Ingrid Michaelson song that you keep telling me to look up? I can't remember it for the life of me.
ReplyDeleteKyle: I am glad that you don't think my music choise pathetic (as quite a few people do). ;) I loved your last blog post. :)
