Itsy Bitsy Spider

This morning I found an Itsy Bitsy Spider crawling around on my bedroom wall. I wanted to ignore it and have it disappear, but then decided that the spider would mostly likely end up some place where I did not want it, breed, and then there would be a TON of them. I then decided to rid myself of the spider. I went to go look at it. Once I took that closer look, I realized that my spider was not so itsy bitsy and had a whitish blue dot on it. It looked something like this(except for the color of the dot):

I decided that a common Kleenex tissue would NOT work so I went to grab our "spider vacuum" in the basement. This poor vacuum has sucked up more spiders than anything else in its long life. I was just going to add another victim to its list.

As I got closer to it, I decided that the hole that you suck it up in, seemed smaller than it did at a first glance. The spider kept moving, so I decided that perhaps I should spray the spider to keep it from moving too much. I ran down to my sister's room again to grab her spider spray and the only thing that I could find was Lysol-Neutra Air---the citrusy smell kind. I decided that anything was good enough for my purpose. I ran up to my room again and saw that the spider was now on my ceiling. I am washing my bedding and such, so I just moved my bed and everything under that spot just in case the spider decided to make an escape. I sprayed the spider and it slowly and ominously made its decent from the ceiling. On the floor it just sat there so I made a quick move for the spider and vacuumed it up. Now the spider will live a wonderful life in the sealed-up spider vacuum. :)
I decided to show how large the spider was by putting mancalla pieces in a pile to show the approx. size. The yellow and blue pieces are how big the spider appeared to be.

I decided that the spider probably came from outside. Intelligent; am I not? ha ha ha.... I really am guessing that the spider lived around this spider web outside my window. I've never actually seen a spider out there, but that doesn't mean none lived there. Now, you're probably wondering why I didn't get rid of the spider web.
I don't know if you can tell from the picture above, but in the spider web there are dried flowers. I thought that the flowers were cute and harmless. Ha ha ha..wow...I'll go pull down the spider web. I admit, I get a bit sentimental about the WEIRDEST things.

Now my room is spiderless (I hope at least), smells like orange stuff, and is perfectly good to do anything that I desire. :)

There's my interesting (if you can call it that) story of the day. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Young Woman Recognition

Hooray!!! Today, I finally received my Young Woman Recognition Award for Personal Progress. I've worked really hard to complete all of the new Virtue requirements and am now DONE! A few months ago, I was SO happy that I was 2 values away from completing the entire project, but then Virtue was added on. I was not too thrilled that I had more work ahead of me, but I decided that it wouldn't be too bad anyway. [Photo]I started reading the Book of Mormon for my project and finished it in March (7th or 8th time--yay! I've now started a count in the back of my Book of Mormon). I am actually very glad that I was able to do the Virtue value (that's alliteration--sorry, English joke)! I know that I am probably the last one to finish the program and all, but I would really recommend everyone do it for themselves, even if they have finished the program. Yay! I love wearing my new medallion to show off my new accomplishment. Wow, if I am this excited for the award now, imagine how I would have been if I would have received it as a beehive. I'll spare you that mental image. Anywho...I love you all!

Brianne's Graduation

On Friday, I went to Brianne's graduation. The ceremony went quite nicely. The speakers were good and, for the most part, things went REALLY smoothly. It was acutally going so smoothly, that I thought I would fall asleep. The only thing that kept me going was that throughout the receiving of the diplomas, the organist kept playing Disney songs. I laughed at how random the choices were: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Hercules, and Fiddler on the Roof were only some of the myriad of songs. :) Afterward, my family went to give my sister a hug. We gave her the camera so that she could spend some time taking pictures, and then planned on leaving. I jokingly asked Brianne if she wanted her little sister to tag along and take pictures. To my surprise, that is exactly what she wanted me to do. Sooo---I stayed and took pictures for my sister. Here are some of them:

This is Brianne being cute!

This is me and Brianny [except--I look really dark and spooky...I promise I don't usually look like that!] ;)

Here are just some of the multitude of Brianne's friends

Here's Brianne and her good friend Lauren.

Bravestock

Last Friday was Bravestock. Bravestock is, in simple terms, a school party. There were activities, food, and lots of people to talk to. I wanted to stick around for the Ultimate Frisbee. I had to wait almost 2 hours to do so, but I still had a fun time waiting. Mari and I talked with loads of people and even had our faces painted. It was SO much fun to be with Mari.

This is me and Mari while we were getting Italian Ice. (FYI--that stuff is VERY good).

After waiting for a long time, we were finally able to play Ultimate Frisbee. I love playing and it was so much fun. The first game, Brianne (my favorite sister ever) was on my team and, in the end, our team dominated. :) Yay!

The second round that we played, we were picked in traditional elementary school style. Sharlee and Taylor Hansen were chosen as the two captains. We lined up and they chose us, one by one. Guess who was the last one to be chosen? ha ha ha--ME! It was actually pretty funny and we all laughed really hard. That's okay though because I ended up being the "secret weapon".

I had a fun time and I was officially hot and sweaty at the end. Nevertheless, I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face and I was in an extra-chipper mood for the rest of the day.
